Home > GEM > Collection Training Development COLLECTIONS TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT – Payment Processor, EU Market Assignment Provide a management/executive level training & development programme for inclusion in the core client member offering, including a detailed insight into the latest collections techniques, strategies and processes. Background The client already had an extensive range of training programmes available to its associated members throughout the EU, however lacked any core offering in the key areas of Collection and Recovery. The programme had to offer industry best practices from the well developed UK and US credit card markets, and to be tuned to the needs of members within the EU, who may operate in different organisational, legal, cultural, or social structures. The programme was to be targeted at Collections professionals at all levels - from established issuers seeking to introduce new managers to collections, to new market entrants requiring a rapid acceleration in pursuit of global ‘best practice’. The Approach After selection to develop the programme, our approach was to draw upon our extensive knowledge of the UK and US Collections and Recovery markets. We also conducted a series of interviews, and held meetings with various collections professionals from different sectors of the UK , US and EU markets, including card issuers, recovery agents, processors and industry bodies. A complete 2 day programme was then developed that would meet the needs of different types of organisation and Collection Professionals within the various EU markets. The programme was modular and included:
To prove the validity of the Programme, we first piloted to a group of experienced credit card managers and executives, before commencing full roll out to client banks. Results The programme has been incorporated into the core offering of the client and to date has been delivered numerous times to audiences composed of senior collections professionals in the UK and throughout Europe . Two support lectures have been delivered at the clients Annual Business School based upon extracts drawn from this Programme. A bespoke programme has been developed and delivered to a leading US credit card issuer, based upon the same techniques and learning’s used in the Programme.
